Left our wonderful mooring at Holy Island late on the tide in order to visit Lindisfarne Priory and museum.
Passed inside the Longstone lighthouse at the north end of the Farne Islands, home of Grace Darling and scene of her heroic rescue in 1842.
The Northumberland coast line is littered with castles, this one at Dunstanburgh.
Consequently an anxious trip down as we had to clear the cill into Amble Marina by 5.15. Scraped in - literally - with minutes to spare. To save time packing it away we had towed Sea Pony and she fitted in snuggly in front of our new berth.
The Marina office had left us a 'Welcome Pack' on the fuel pontoon!
There seemed to be a mallard mums and babies crèche:
Third time lucky, everywhere being booked solid, we begged a table at the Fish Shack and enjoyed a supper of delicious local sardines (D) and lamb before heading back to the boat.
Wonderful pictures - all sounding so lovely!
